As the title suggests, this is by no means an exhaustive compilation, and as Fripp himself writes in the liner notes this is just a “pocket edition of the four-volume novel released in 1991 as “The Essential K.C.”; As he later notes “an earnest Crimsonhead will dispute and argue the choice of tracks”; considering that satisfying all parties would be an impossible task, I certainly agree this “serves as an introduction to, and an overview of, our studio work between 1969 and 1984”.However it’s impossible not to point out how unfair it might have been to completely ignore so many pre 75 albums, when all of the 80’s release, up to that point in time, have at least a representative in the track list…
