Renaissance "Scheherazade And Other Stories" 1975

Scheherazade and Other Stories is the sixth studio album by the English progressive rock band Renaissance, released in 1975. Some critics consider it their best album, although others prefer earlier albums.[2][3] This is the first album in which Renaissance (Annie Haslam's version) did not use quotes from actual classical pieces and the first not to feature any songwriting credits from the original members. Contrary to popular belief, "Song of Scheherazade" is not based on Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, but does have a recurring six-note motif that alludes to that work

“Las mil y una noches”

Según la leyenda, existió un sultán persa que, para vengarse por la traición de su primera esposa, se desposaba con una mujer distinta cada noche y al día siguiente la mandaba decapitar. Para no correr la misma suerte, Sherezade decidió entretener al sultán durante toda la noche narrándole una historia y postergando el final hasta la llegada del amanecer. De este modo, el sultán debía perdonarle la vida una noche más para conocer como terminaba su cuento. Con este ingenioso truco, Sherezade se las ingenió para sobrevivir durante mil y una noches y así acabó por convertirse en reina.
