Peter Gabriel "Peter Gabriel II" 1978 (Fripp)

Peter Gabriel is the second solo studio album by English singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel, released in 1978. The album is the second of four with the same eponymous title. Guitarist Robert Fripp  served as producer, whose influence on the album is evident in the use of 'Frippertronics' on the track "Exposure".

No Man "Flowermouth" 1994 (Fripp)

Considered a vitally important evolution, the album realised the expansive promise of the band's earlier material. Combining dream pop, art rock and moody minimalism, with an epic orchestral scope, Flowermouth was well served by the guest performances of Japan/Rain Tree Crow's Jansen and Barbieri, King Crimson's Robert Fripp and Mel Collins, jazz trumpeter Ian Carr and eerie Dead Can Dance singer Lisa Gerrard.

2006-Fripp & Eno "Beyond Even" 1992-2006

In 1975, Brian Eno released his epochal Discreet Music replete with an ambient music manifesto as well as a diagram making explicit the system he used-- a sort of rudimentary analog phase machine-- to create the record. If Discreet Music demonstrated the aural wallpaper aspect of the system of overlapping loops (legend has it hospitals regularly piped in the LP during childbirth), Eno's earlier experiments with guitarist Robert Fripp were somewhat less, well, discreet. In fact, in a lot of ways the equally epochal Fripp/Eno albums No Pussyfooting (1973) and Evening Star (1975) brought ambient music firmly to the foreground.

Fripp & Eno "The essential Fripp & Eno" (1994)

This compilation of the recorded collaborations between guitarist Robert Fripp and producer/conceptualist/musician Brian Eno is taken from two album-length recordings made for the Island subsidiary Antilles in 1974 and 1975, No Pussyfooting and Evening Star, with an unreleased 1979 session added on. "The Heavenly Music Corporation" and "Swastika Girls," totaling 39 minutes, make up the whole of No Pussyfooting. Both of these pieces are slowly evolving reel-to-reel tape experiences that are hypnotic and remain revelatory decades later. "Wind on Water" and "Evening Star" account for half of the latter album's first side; they are easily the two most beautiful and "melodic" cuts issued by the pair.

Fripp & Eno "The Equatorial Stars" (2004)

While the technology was, in retrospect, remarkably simple, guitarist Robert Fripp, best known for his work with the perennial King Crimson, and synthesist/producer Brian Eno literally invented a new musical form when they hooked up two Revox reel-to-reel tape recorders in '73, allowing Fripp to layer an almost infinite number of loops to create a groundbreaking technique called Frippertronics. On '73's No Pussyfooting and the '75 follow-up, the more sublime Evening Star , Fripp truly developed the orchestral possibilities of the guitar, while Eno's studio finesse coaxed the sounds into hitherto unheard of aural landscapes

Robert Fripp "God Save the Queen/Under Heavy Manners" (1980)

The album largely consists of Frippertronics, with much of the work being performed by improvisation. On the Under Heavy Manners side of the album, the effect was modified in what Fripp described as "Discotronics", adding a solid drum beat and bass line to create a dancier sound. The design concept was by Fripp and Chris Stein, with Stein credited for the cover photography.

The Robert Frip String Quintet "The Bridge Between" (1993)

The Bridge Between, contains excellent performances from the Quintet proper as well as a number of compelling Frippertronic passages and Crimson-soaked guitarritude. With eyes closed, one can almost visualize Fripp, Eno, and Summers all trading licks in capricious delight. The darkly pulsing "Blue" realizes that hallucinatory collaboration. Fripp's ideals push both him and the Quintet to their artistic limits. He challenges both his own earnest reputation and an illustrious catalog of sounds in a precognition of 21st century classical music.

Se trata de la segunda colaboración entre ambos, grabada tras su gira conjunta, donde repiten el sistema utilizado en su anterior trabajo: (No Pussyfooting). Sin embargo en esta nueva obra se introducen más variaciones instrumentales y compositivas.

Robert Fripp "Let The Power Fall" (1981)

Frippertronics is a specific tape looping technique used by Robert Fripp. It evolved from a system of tape looping originally developed in the electronic music studios of the early 1960s that was first used by composers Terry Riley and Pauline Oliveros and made popular through its use in ambient music by composer Brian Eno. The effect is now routinely found in many commercial loop station guitar digital effects boxes such as the Boss RC-3.

Robert Fripp and Brian Eno (No Pussyfooting) (1973)
